A QUICK TRIP TO MIAMI
A quick work trip to Miami last week was a breath of fresh air....and warmth!
I was in Miami for 4 days this last week for work. It's always so strange to go from winter to summer. I'd forgotten what it felt like to be so hot. I ended up getting a pretty bad sunburn because I neglected to use sunscreen...whoops! It was so nice to be near an ocean. I woke up early most days to watch the sunrise and sip coffee in the quiet early morning sun.
We stayed at the gorgeous Nautilus Hotel in South Beach. The ocean was only steps away and there were plenty of beautiful spots to shoot. Miami is always so refreshing because there are people taking photos / being crazy everywhere, so nobody even pays attention to us. Whereas in Philly, we usually get comments and unwanted audiences. So flying under the radar in Florida is always a welcome change!
I also couldn't get enough of the green plants, blue sky, and pastel buildings around every corner. It seems like there was a perfectly colored wall everywhere we looked! It was such a fun environment. Not to mention the ocean! I think I need to live in a place near the ocean. Even though I usually only go in knee-deep at most (I'm terrified of most things that swim in the ocean...), I still love the peaceful nature of the beach. My mornings watching the sunrise were my favorite, and something that I could easily get used to in my daily life. Someday!
It was such a nice trip, but it's also GREAT to be home. Max has been attached to my hip all day, snuggling into me every chance he gets. Pretty perfect homecoming if you ask me.
