WAIHEKE WEEKEND

A weekend trip with my twin sister to celebrate our 30th birthday.

We stayed in the cutest little cottage and found the best beaches, cafes, restaurants
and a vintage shop with goodies from good ol’ Philadelphia, USA!

OUR FAVOURITE SPOTS:

TO EAT / DRINK:

The Annex - Our AirBnb was just around the corner from this place. They had to best cinnamon brioche ever ever ever!

Charlie Farley’s - We ate here a couple times and loved everything we tried. The fish & chips was so yummy paired with a lemon, lime & bitters. And you can’t beat the fact that you are right by the ocean! So lovely.

Island Coffee - A cute little roaster with some local ceramic artists showcased as well. Nice place to pop in for a takeaway coffee!

TO SEE:

Onetangi Bay Walk - A beautiful beach with a walkway on the East end. There are lovely views of the ocean from the trail.

Thea Ceramics - The cutest little ceramics studio! She does an open studio on Saturdays from 10-1. It’s super fun to shop around while she works!

Island Grocer - A grocery store packed with organic goods and great beer / wine selections. There’s also a coffee bar serving up Coffee Supreme and some yummy treats.

Greatest Friend Vintage - We stumbled upon this amazing vintage shop, located near The Annex. It is chock-full of such beautiful pieces - some of it sourced from Philadelphia, which made me so happy!

There are also SO MANY amazing wineries. We didn’t check these out since I’m pregnant and couldn’t do any wine tastings. But it’s definitely on the list for next time!

It was such a relaxing trip and so good for my sister and I to have some quality, uninterrupted time to catch up and watch cheesy Christmas movies together. I’m already thinking of going back with Tim and Max because there were some amazing little playgrounds & beaches that Max would have loved. Until next time, Waiheke! You were a dream.
